I trail run quite a bit in pretty rough and rocky terrain in the Ozark Mountains (photos for reference) and tend to lean towards barefoot shoes.I have tried so many different brands of trail running shoes and just figured they were all just not that great. I was very resistant to even try these. The last holy grail shoes suggested to me bruised both big toes nails in a single run and we all know what happens next.First of all, I am tall and wear a 10.5. It is very rare that I can find shoes in my exact size but even rarer that they are true to size. I ordered a 10.5, wear thick trail toe socks and they fit perfect.The first time that I wore these, I went for a 10ish mile run and ended up with a 900 ft elevation gain. I had fewer blisters in less places than I ever have. The only place where there were blisters were on the side of my big toe. I didn't even feel or know I had them until I got home and they didn't hurt at all.Next, they have the perfect amount of cushion. I can still feel the trail but now I am not leaving with sore feet after a particularly rocky run.Finally, I have a friend who is an ultra trail runner and the Lone Peak's are all he will wear. He was the one who actually convinced me to finally give up my fallback decade old pair of New Balance Minimus for these.This is my second pair of Altra shoes and I absolutely love them. My job requires me to be on my feet all day both standing and walking around. I’ve tried all kinds of different shoes and these are the first ones that don’t leave me with any back or foot pain by the end of the day. Genuinely so comfortable. Highly recommend!I love these shoes so far. No break in period at all. I did not like how my shins felt while running on pavement but on the trail these are a dream. Great traction and stability, quick drying, and light weight!I’m training for a spartan beast race in nov and these are apart of my gear!Ps I had to run from an actual bear in these shoes and let me just say… buy them ?I really like these shoes, they're made for feet to be happy. The only problem is that "foot shape fit" only works for toes that go down in size from big toe to little. I have very Celtic feet: my second and third toes are longer than my big toe. The third toe touches the end of the shoe, while the rest for pretty happilyI still wear these since they're the best of several shoes I've tried lately. I only worry about hikes or runs with steep down hill stretches. They will probably be problematic.After bunion surgery and with crooked toes, these shoes give me the extra rounded toe space needed for comfort. I still sometimes add a small arch pad for arch support. Purchased these for a walking vacation, and they’ll do well.Because of the extra width in all Altra shoes, you may be able to go 1/2 or even a full size down from your regular shoe size. I work on my feet and wore them for a 12 hour shift the very first day and they are wonderful. I will be buying more!I love this brand, but especially these shoes. They are lightweight and comfortable, even when I’m on my feet for 9 hours a day. They fit true to size, and I love the color (I got green). I had a sore toe for months (probably broken, but who knows for sure), and these are the only shoes I could wear without discomfort.Sehr bequemer Schuh, der auf hartem Untergrund dennoch genug Dämpfung gibt.Auch bei längeren Wanderungen keine Blasen bekommen.Während die Sohle kaum abgetragen ist, löst sich der „Stoff“ leider schon an mehreren Stellen auf. Personalmente ho preferito le 5, per via dell'aggancio frontale della ghetta (in questa 6 ci si aggancia alla stringa e non ad un anellino dedicato). Il comfort e i volumi mi sembrano gli stessi. Ottime scarpe!I have a bunion and these fit me so well. The wide toe area mean there is no pain or rubbing. The insoles are removable which means I can use my orthotics (yes major foot problems here). Anyway, these are great, I love them and buy nothing but altras.These were perfect for my hike on a local trail. It was raining and my socks got wet through the shoes but the grip was perfect for climbing across wet rocks.Der Schuh passt super :) bin total begeistert, kein Einlaufen der Schuhe, ich hatte gar keine Probleme. Super leicht und bequem. jedoch nicht wasserfest, sollen sie ja auch laut Beschreibung nicht sein, sie trocknen dafür aber super schnell! ich benutze sie hauptsächlich für lange Wandertouren und kann sie wirklich absolut empfehlen! es waren meine ersten Altra und werde mit Sicherheit jetzt bei dieser Marke bleiben!
