High waist is great, fit is true to size. I'm 155lbs, 5'6" and got a large, they are comfy baggy, not huge though. I would go with a medium for a true fit for me. Material is soft and lightweight. They'd probably work great for swim shorts as well. They're shorter than what of normally wear but for lounging or comfy wear I don't care. The description says 4in, that's probably pretty accurate. I bought them on special for $13 and should have gotten more.
