(This is my husband's account--they're my shoes though.) I have large, flat, high-motion feet that overpronate like crazy. I used to be a marathon runner and was into racing middle distance as well, but my feet are so banged up from all those miles, plus age, that now I take it easy and just do 4-5 miles a day at a moderate pace. I've had a lot of problems with shoes that have stitching and plastic that rubs against the inside of the bottom metatarsal on my R foot, making it blister and bleed to the point where I've totally given up on Brooks and Asics--two go-to brands for people who run a lot. A couple of years ago, a runner friend who knows how bad my feet are recommended the regular Boosts. They felt good in the store, but the ones they carried were 165 bucks, so I went to the Adidas outlet store and got them in a lower-priced hot pink color. While more comfortable than some shoe, they still gave me the rubbing problem. Finally I really put my mind to solving this problem--if it could be solved--and the other day I browsed around Amazon to see if Boost made any other shoes. I came upon these, and from all the different angles it looked like the plastic and stitching didn't go up as high as most other sneakers; I thought maybe these would offer a new and better fit for me. I ordered them, and this morning I wore them on the treadmill (in case they didn't feel good and I needed to return them, better to figure that out inside) for a 4.2-mile run with absolutely NO discomfort! No rubbing, no issues with the heel or tongue that a few other people seemed to have with the shoe... I am really happy. I wouldn't say they're the bounciest sneaker out there, or that they'd hold up awesomely for longer-distance running, but they are certainly light, roomy in the right places, with a wide smooth toe-box. If you have flat wide feet like mine, don't be put off by all the talk about high arches and arch support in these reviews. Just give them a try, and wear them inside the first time. You might be happy too!
