I have had some serious issues with my right foot, which is really wide (a D to 2EE, depends on sneaker) with a bunion and now has Morton's Neuroma. My left foot is kind of normal. I always wore New Balance 8 2EE, but it has been years since I decided to try them again. With age, I am now an 8.5 in all brands, I think. I have recently tried Brooks Glycerin 11 in 8.5D. They were fine until I got to about 3-1/2 miles into my run and I had severe numbness and pain in the ball of the foot and 3 little toes. Great cushioning though. I then just purchased Asics GT-2000 in 8.5 2EE. They are also good and cushioned. However, no matter what shoe I've purchased, comes the 3 mile mark, I need to take my shoe off, rest and resume. The pain is awful. I've even ran home without a shoe on!I decided to go whole hog and purchase these from Amazon, best price for sure, and I really had to think about the size this time because I decided to try the 4EE width. I probably should have ordered an 8, but after reading recent reviews that they ran small, I went for the 8.5 4EE. All I can say is I was shocked at how huge they looked out of the box and on! They are like moon shoes to me! Yes, they are certainly more than wide enough and my left foot is swimming.I decided to try and run in them a few days ago. They are very comfortable for walking. But since I'm a runner, these were way too heavy, maybe because they're a bit too big too, but by the 3-1/2 mile marker, I had similar pain and the strangling feeling on my toes. I found myself taking the shoe off too. So, for me, I really don't think it's the width of the shoe that is my issue. It's the Morton's Neuroma for sure. I think whatever shoe I wear i will have the same issues. I purchased a pair of Hoka One One Bondi 3, which is a medium width, but the midsection of the sole has extra cushioning and the shoe is extremely comfortable, even for my wide width. I used them on the treadmill today and I was okay. Not sure if I will have the same bad results when I hit the pavement tomorrow, but I'm sure I will be taking those off too! What I will say though, I decided to use these NB monsters for walking in the mall, shopping, and even in the house and believe it or not, the neuroma is definitely not as aching and painful. So, maybe these shoes in time will help. I may even decide to use them to do an 5-8 mile walk at some point. But running is out of the question.I had the 1123s also years back. They were big ugly horsey looking shoes. These do look alot more updated, but they are not very pretty on! In fact, someone else may have mentioned it, but I look like my shoes are on the wrong feet!! Like the kid's straight last shoes! Same effect.Luv this shoe as I have a Hyper-mobile Flat foot -which after early College Cross Country Running injury-That took away-my activity friends and FUN-long enough to gert my attention-? I learned What I needed to remain Almost Completely Injury free For three decades-I have to be diligent to keep Plantar Fasciitis away-In a shoe?Injury has been kept away is 'kept away thru careful management of the variety of factors the variety of contributing factors-In A Shoe?A Straight Last-is key Finding one? Is NOT EASY-Even THIS FANTASTICALLY long lasting GEM-In its 'Newer Forms'-? For me....FAILS----I still love my 'old pair' more than the multiple Newer Models made to 'Replace this one'-Experience over decades? A TRUE Straight Last-Heavier more supportive materials-Are FAR more important than focus on 'Lightweight' materials-Injury Prevention Is by FAR the MOST important feature in shoes.....thin'???...Is NOT of ANY value if you are injured- Is NOT on the priority list-EVERY run shoe CO that has Previously made a shoe like this one?-changes it or discontinues it-I know this is not for an 'Average' foot -but 'Average feet'(not High arch or Flat) Have more than enough options-I do not!! This WAS a perfect shoe for me-Until they 'Updated it-Too Bad-EVERY Company Including NEW BALANCE-cannot be depended upon to keep a True motion control (straight lasted) shoe in their product line- NOT Mess with it!!A TRUE Straight Last Shoe?Made with materials that keep the integrity needed for Motion Controllonger than 3-4 months?(My old pairs???STILL beat a year of newer 'changed' BUT NOT IMPROVED models !!!(mean my plantar fasciitis prone feet feel better in this OLD shoes than ALL new models... I have personally found ALL lightweight' materials are inferior to heavier materials in the area of stability (roll bars etc)-a mobile foot TESTS the integrity of stability features in a way a high arched foot Does or 'Average arched Foot...? Does NOT-Being COMPLETELY injury free for decades? The key for me is a shoe Like THIS and HARD to find-THIS Shoe? The stability features are still superior to A year of Newer-shoes--(top of the line of each of a variety of SUPPOSEDLY newer 'motion control' models.Has lasted FOREVER !!! It is still more stable than my most recent new balance purchase of the shoe REPLACING this model!!!--I WISH Shoe Manufacturers would keep a Straight Lasted shoe FOCUSED on Injury Prevention OVER 'light' quickly broken down materials-Messing with the LAST and Materials-Matters to 'Fad and Fashion=- but if you are injured-Searching stores for a TRUE Motion Control Injury Free Shoe...My only regret...? Thinking I could find it again-or trust the Shoe Comp[anies to keep Care about someone without their Largest market share--'Average NONEXERCISING Foot'-Don't You just HATE THayt?Very cute! Look exactly as described. Fit great and are comfortable! So happy to find these in my size - and at a reasonable price for this size! (ordered a size 9 4E - and they were $70. I know the price varies at times. When I put them in "my cart", they were $70, then $86, then came back down to $70). But I have seen these shoes for well over $100. I was so anxious to get them and try them on to see if they actually fit. They fit very nice. Nice to have a pair of cute shoes to go walking in to try to get in better shape. I have gained a lot of weight over the years (plus size now and my feet often swell). For reference, I can not wear a regular "wide width" shoe anymore. They are too narrow. (I used to actually wear a regular width shoe). These are not too tight, I can wiggle my toes in these! Sometimes I can wear a WW shoe, depending on how they are made. Also for reference, I have tried Woman Within and one of their "sister" companies, ordering a pair of Comfortview shoes and another pair of boots. I am able to fit into their WW width shoes. (Also, in case any of the ladies are looking for extra wide cute boots and need an extra wide calf, try Simply Be. They offer wider calves than most in extra wide foot widths in a variety of combinations). Sometimes I wear a 2E and sometimes a 4E shoe these days. I have also found that Propet brand is GREAT for my wide feet. They are very reasonably priced on Amazon. (Average of $40 / pr. for extra wide (2E-4E ) leather shoes and sandals - some cheaper mesh styles , and some cheaper prices now on summer sandals).Exactly what I needed and wanted. THANK YOU. Prompt service too.Great as expected
