I am a definite New Balance gal, I have worn mainly the white leather walking style shoes until now, when I saw these I really liked how they looked and wanted to try them. These are the first running shoe I have ever owned, they fit quite different from walking shoes. I consider these the "skinny jeans" of shoes, I did have to go up a half a size (from an 8.5 to a 9) after reading about how people found them to run small, I'm glad I went up the half size. I prefer a wide, I like for my toes to have wiggle room, I also have a high arch and suffer from a bit of plantar fasciitis, and as with all the my other NB shoes I have had over the years, I have to add some extra arch support. I chose to keep the original insole and just add a little arch pad where it needs to go UNDER the original insole, that is working just fine for me.The first thing I noticed about the fit is it is snug, but not tight, but it cradles my feet in a very different way than my NB walking shoes. It took a few wears to finally decide I liked them and now they are my daily shoe. I am not a runner, I do like to walk and hike, I live on a mountain side in the far desert of far west Texas, I have to walk down a pretty good hill to get from my house to my truck, it's mainly dirt and rocks, and rather steep in a few places, the tread on these shoes really gives me confidence that I will not slip as I navigate my way down and back up my hill. I have worn these shoes on a few hikes in my neighborhood, these are mountainous unpaved roads with lots of rocks, if I go off the road, I'm walking through brush, I didn't know how the fabric part of the shoe would perform compared to my all leather walkers, and so far they are holding up just fine. Another nice detail is the tread does not tend to pick up rocks, though in one of the photos I'm uploading, you will see one rock in the tread, they aren't perfect but are a lot better than most other shoes with aggressive tread.I also wear these to work, I'm a merchandiser in multiple dollar stores around west Texas, I am standing, walking, crawling, squatting and crab-walking on concrete floors, my work days tend to be long and my feet feel pretty good after a long day in these shoes, my feet will be tired, but they don't hurt. The only place on the shoe where I notice any discomfort is where it rides under my outer ankles, it seems higher there than my other shoes, but I'm getting used to it, it's not painful, I just notice the pressure there. It's the only area where I'm having to "break them in".The Vibram sole is a nice touch, I have had boots with a Vibram sole, never sneakers, it's kinda fun having the Vibram logo on my sneaker shoe. I'm hoping that means they will hold up to the abuse I'm giving them. The laces, I don't know when shoe manufacturers went from regular laces to those half round /round laces, I'm still trying to get used to them, when I looked them up, their main selling point is that they don't come untied like standard flat laces do, I have double tied my laces for most of my adult life to prevent them from coming untied, it's a hard habit to break. I don't mind the laces they put on these shoes, I just wish they were a few inches longer, once I tie them them double tie them, there is hardly anything left for me to get a hold of. YMMV depending on how you snug up the laces.Bottom line, the shoes look good, they feel good, they are snug feeling, a bit stiff under my outer ankles, but are getting better as I wear them. I vacillated between the grey and the other colors, I honestly picked the grey because of the better price point, I am actually glad I did, they look even better in person. I uploaded a lot of pictures, I wanted to show how these shoes look from every angle in real life.Men's version is unavailable in my size and when available it normally twice the price, just go up two sizes and don't let a Q instead of a K demasculate you.I like how it's designed and you can run with it comfortablyI use these shoe for road running (around 4 miles) when it's raining, snowing, or wintry mix outside in my hometown in the northeast. They keep my feet mostly dry in all but very rainy conditions (nothing will keep your feet dry then). They are somewhat stiff and flat, so I wouldn't recommend them as every day running shoes -- but they do the job when the conditions aren't so nice outside.I wanted to find a nice pair of sneakers that I could run, hike or mountain bike in (primarily mountain bike) but that looked nice! I haven't owned NB's before, so I was amazed when I found these Skom (Summit) trail running shoes for $28 in my size! I went with the wide fit b/c my feet are on the wider size. They fit perfect. I'm a true 6, and these didn't squeeze me, or feel too roomy in all areas! The first time I wore them I barely noticed they were on. I love the texture detail on the bottom (a little extra tread will help when mountain biking grip to my pedals). Love the grey-neutral color w/ a tiny pop of neon green. Would buy another pair for sure!I wear a 7.5 wide and have ordered NB shoes in that size in the past withno problem. This particular pair seems to run small. I can get them on but after wearing them once I noticed they press against my toe and is uncomfortable. I couldn't wait to get home and take them off. I hope they stretch out some. This new balance shoe is the most comforable ever. I liked them so well, I ordered a second pair. The sole is great for long days on rough terrian and stylish enough to wear anywhere. Just the right amount of cushion and support. The 2nd pair I ordered had a defect but the customer service was great. They send me a new pair right away and I had thirty days to return the pair with the defect all with free shipping. Very happy with this purchase and with this seller.I buy NB all the time because of my planter fascitits. Only down side is they wear fast and I have to replace at least every 6 months. Even when they still look good the sole support isn't the same and I start to have heel pain. This pair fit a little smaller then expected but were still wearable.Be aware that these run VERY SMALL (I already ordered 1 size up after researching them) and their return will cost you £16!!En mi opinión, no recomendada para personas que estén acostumbradas a correr en montaña con zapatillas de horma ancha. Espero ser de ayuda, saludos y kilómetros :)Bought the shoes based on a friend‘a recommendation . Incredibly light shoe. Like the wide width and support in the sole. Was cheaper to purchase on American site and pay for shipping than buying on amazon.ca.Zapatilla genial, desde el primer dia buenas sensaciones, muy buena estabilidad, buena adherencia y bonito diseño. Muy polivalente.Uso un 38-39 y compre un 39 super pequeño apretan un monton.Que desilusión.
